Looks like the factory tires for the Corolla GR are Michelin Pilot 4S 235/40ZR18. That ZR means over 168 mph is the speed rating (ZR is kind of unspecified in that it means above V rating, equal to W and greater). I think it should be fine at 114mph.

Having no insurance is stupid. So stupid. But holes in the engine block seem to be a factory defect. I owned a GRC and tracked it. I reached over 114 MPH, the rear diff overheated, but my engine never blew up and caught fire, thankfully.

In the 80’s Toyota refused a warranty claim on the transmission of a Van we owned because we didn’t change the ENGINE OIL at the dealer.

NHTSA incoming, cars that catch fire get recalled. Of course Toyota will fight, and loose.

This reminds me of Nissan voiding all of the GTR warranties because people turned off traction control.

Doesn't Toyota include an HPDE day with any GR purchase?

If you are not supposed to drive over 85, why doesn’t Toyota govern it for 85? I’m sure there is a rev limiter on the engine. Do you void the warrantee if you rev over 4,000 RPM even if it is not rev limited to something like 6,000?  If you slam on the brakes to avoid a crash, is that abusive?  This seems like BS from

It doesn’t matter. A base corolla can hit and sit at 114 mph with no significant problems. Why the hell can't the GR?

Lack of warranty is the cause for the excitement.

Lawsuits incoming if Toyota doesn't get their act together.

Always love the “Look what our car/truck can do!” ads.

Toyota: We Build Excitement!*

Was he at the track? Most manufacturers won’t cover track driving anyways (which is dumb), But driving over 85mph = abuse? Even Mitsubishi stood by their high performance cars, what a let down. There’s something seriously wrong if driving 85mph will cause the car to combust.

There is a lot of reasons to not buy a new car anymore.  I can add this BS excuse to it too

Typical Stellantis.
They don’t have auto loans, they have mortgages.

Just found out my previous teacher who has 100% been awesome, smart, fun, and everything normal, even better than most human beings is a strong conservative and trumper, and I cannot fathom how, because he lives in dem land and is pretty intelligent. I’m still gonna be his friend, but my guess is he grew up in a

Only the poors drive their own cars.

They’ll just take out longer loans at higher interest rates for the modern Rams.

I’m actually sort of grateful for MAGA signs and Confederate flags - helps me to decide where not to do business.

These are the worst vehicles and drivers to encounter in the wild. I’m glad they’re finally pulling the plug on this douche-mobile.
