I think they meant that the class the GRY was supposed to compete in had its rules changed so the GRY is no longer homologated. The old top class was called WRC, but was canceled, and then changed to Rally 1 with new sweeping rules.

When you can buy an AWD top of the line Altima for less than the base Maxima, people will buy the Altima, even if it has less power. If they want more power and luxury, they’d just step it up to the Q50. The Maxima has been in a weird place for years, and I’m surprised it even lasted all the way to an 8th gen.
Unsurprising, considering that the Altima has ballooned to Maxima size, and is easier to sell because it’s cheaper. It was getting harder and harder to tell which was a Maxima and Altima as the generations went by anyway. And if someone MUST have a luxurious Nissan sedan, Infiniti still exists.
This is fine. If they keep making cars but no one is buying, then they’ll sit on lots like they did before the COVID era. I can’t be the only one longing for the days of packed dealership lots with a plethora of cars to choose from, at will with no waiting.
This. When doing track days, I enter the gate, find an empty nook somewhere far from the paddock, and remove my plates. Then finally check in. I do the same but reverse on my way home. A little too much? Maybe. But you never know who’s watching.
Put the G16E-GTS in the GR86!
If the engine rebuilder builds it ‘by the book’ as Toyota claims, would the mechanic use the same ridiculous amount of RTV sealant on the oil pan gasket like they do on the assembly line, which caused this whole debacle in the first place?
Oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy. I hope Toyota rewrites their warranty for all GR vehicles covering non-competitive track use. If not, they can keep the GR Corolla, and I’ll keep my Veloster N, which does have a track warranty.
Not until they fix the manufacturing issue with oil pan sealant breaking off and being sucked in to the oil passages. No-siree.
There goes my GRC arriving within a reasonable time frame.
My home track, Heartland Motorsports Park road course in Topeka, KS. It’s 2.5 miles long, 14 corners, and has a bit of everything. Long straights, sweepers, chines, hairpins, and even a butt puckering elevated blind left to right hander after the front straight called ‘Alpha’. Fast laps are under 2 minutes. It’s a…
Alfa should also be doing this, if they want to stay relevant in the US market.
Cops using taxpayer money and professional resources for personal gain?
I like boring states to drive through because they’re uneventful, low pressure, and time passes by faster. The less I have to think driving long distances, the better.
I’m sure with enough money and the right clientele, they’ll build a few more 964s here and there for a select few.
I wonder if they’ll develop a new chassis or just have an Alfa branded Wagoneer or Charger/Challenger with the 2.9L V6 Turbo.
So long as Toyota builds my GRC within the next 2 years, I’m good.
Hell yea.
The overpaying for a C8 meme is a real thing. There are a lot of people buying C8s(and other desirable cars) from resellers. Otherwise, people wouldn’t be talking about it. While reselling is still a small percentage of actual sales, there are enough raw numbers of resellers doing this to warrant attention from car…
Stop buying from resellers. Let resellers snatch up C8s and don’t buy from them. At all. This is the only way reselling stops. Now they’re stuck with C8s they’ve already paid taxes, TTLs, and insurance on. Make them lose money.
