Times were simpler back then. They say the golden age of sportscars ended in 90s. But that’s probably in Japan. I’d argue that the golden age of sportscars and enthusiast cars in the USA were in the 2000s all the way until early 2010s. I miss those days.

On paper, this wouldn’t have competed with what I listed in my post. But in practice... that’s another story. I’ve known a lot of car enthusiasts in the past with money and many of them chose to buy a less expensive Japanese sportscar over Vettes, Vipers, BMWs, Audis, Jags, etc.

Dodge/Chrysler had some cool concepts back in the day. Dodge Venom, Copperhead, this. That being said, even if any of these made it to production, it wouldn’t have sold well and would have got the axe after 3-5 years of being sold. The sportscar market back in the early 2000s was booming, along with the JDM scene.

Interesting. If they really are defenders of freedom like they claim to be, then they shouldn’t be protesting bills that allow for more freedoms for everyone. But logic isn’t the strong suit of these kinds of people. I hope they turn inevitably turn on each other yet again.

What the hell are these assholes protesting against now? Mask and vaccine mandates have been largely lifted. If their employers require vaccines, they can either comply or pull themselves up with from bootstraps and find another job. If they want to go to Canada, they would also need to comply with their requirements

The Uwharrie area in central NC is pretty good. I used to live in Raleigh so I would drive to Uwharrie every now and then. Not as long as other driving roads in the state, but I devised a loop where my ‘base station’ is a gas station(Eldorado Outpost) and just drive around connecting different roads together. Low

If you don’t include the fancy named, high traffic, famous driving roads, eastern Tennessee and Western NC. Specifically due to the overall lack of traffic. What are great driving roads when you’re stuck behind multiple Subaru Crosstreks and Outbacks that drive lower than the speed limit and refuse to use pullouts?

Oh I agree. I LOVED Nissan back in the day and really hoped from the bottom of my heart that they would have released any of their JDM and international exclusives here in the USA. A lot of times when reminiscing, I look back with rose colored glasses. But with Nissan specifically, I kinda feel like I’ve been duped. I

It’s a damn shame Nissan basically treated the US market in the late 80s and 90s like a red-headed stepchild.

I dunno. I think the Juke had a ton of potential to be a real fun, practical car. But Nissan being Nissan likes to phone in everything they do. I really wanted to see a 240+ horsepower version of this, even with a FWD only manual. But nope. Slap on the Nismo badge and appearance package and call it a day.

Oh so buying high and selling higher isn’t a good business plan?

Way to revive a storied name with a lot of history. Only to start digging its grave the moment it’s launched. This car won’t last 5 years until it’s name is changed, or killed off.

Hypermotards are cool. This appearance package is lame.

This is great news for those wanting to keep their C8s forever.

You should have replied back saying that Nissan should consider themselves lucky for having so many subprime customers to keep them in business. Without the Z and GTR, they’re nothing.

Can VW fanboys ever compare their cars against other cars stock for stock? Or do VW fanboys have to sign a legal agreement when they buy the car stating that they must always bring up how much more power their car makes after a tune when being compared to something else?

Adding 2 turbos, turbo system ancillaries, and chassis strengthening for increased horsepower makes a car heavier. Who knew?

They haven’t even revealed pricing in the US yet and it’s already delayed.

Rental Prius. It was the fastest car in the world for 2 weeks that still got 28 MPG, combined. Epitomizes the idea of slow car being driven fast is a lot more fun than a fast car being driven slow.

I hope that this Mini can at least last the 24 hours. Finishing that race is an achievement in itself. And doing so in mostly stock-ish components would prove that Minis can be reliable and robust. But I guess we’ll see in a month.
