I’ve never heard of Sam Hunt, but he sounds like a pain in the ass who probably lost a lot of interest in his now-wife once he “won” her. I know a few couples where the man relentlessly pursued their eventual wife. The marriages all ended largely because the husband pretty much completely stopped all “wooing” after…

Of course it has, he had a highly traumatic experience. That kind of trauma almost always takes over someone’s life. The problem is, usually that manifests itself in PTSD or depression or being scared for the rest of your life. He’s taken this awful event and is using it to do some good for the world.

It kinda has taken over his life, but in a sort of positive way? I do hope his family found him a good therapist because he’s dealing with a world of trauma and pressure here.

I’m now ashamed of my gap year where I learned how to drive and got drunk for the first time were the highlights.

He’s actually taking a gap year to work on voter registration and campaign for anti-NRA candidates. I like this move so much.

He is truly wonderful. He was a part of a tragic horrific event, but instead of letting that moment take over his life, he is doing something about it. It reminds me of one of my favorite lines, from The Departed: “I don’t wanna be a product of my environment. I want my environment to be a product of me.”
