I don’t understand why jettisoning the existing plot, to the extent there is one, is more exciting or preferable to just recasting the guy. Just finish what you started, right? Hastily pivoting to a totally different villain with a totally different gimmick sounds like it wouldn’t make anyone happy.

In terms of legal consequences, you’re probably right. However the impact on his career is clearly much farther reaching. It’s possible that it’ll recover in a few years, but the turn in his fortunes has been rather staggering. I’m sure he’s raging against Jabbari for what she’s “cost him,” but he has no one to blame

I was checking out Showtime’s OnDemand and saw they had the 2023 AVN Awards. As I’ve never seen the porn awards before, thought I’d try it. This dude was the MC. He wasn’t funny. And I have no idea what the dress code for these things usually are, but all the porn stars were wearing super gaudy outfits. I thought that

I was going to say that if a friend of mine had said something like that when I was in my teens or maybe my early twenties I would have laughed my ass off. From a professional comedian in 2023, it’s a lot less impressive.

Agreed. The Los Angeles Times headline for the story was “Melissa Barrera dropped from ‘Scream VII’ after pro-Palestinian posts,” which is more accurate. Even more accurate would just be that she was fired for telling the truth.

Bad luck! That’s my job! I’m a standup comedian, I’m meant to challenge people! If you don’t like being challenged, don’t watch my shows! What’s the matter, guys? Toooo challenging for yah?!?

I was shocked, as a former Catholic, to find out that Catholics are pro-choice by a small majority. I thought for years that Republicans were anti-choice to court Catholic voters, as the Republican Party is counter to Catholic values in every other area. It turns out that only evangelicals are majority anti-choice.

Agree to disagree then. You think the caucus controls itself. I think it is always at least a little unruly and always needs wrangling and hand-holding. That’s the whole point of the speaker and the whips. While the Dems aren’t flirting with an intra-party civil war like the Republicans are, they’re hardly a unified

Again, no. Everything you mention is explained because of the lack of brain-dead idiots alla Gaetz, Greene, et al.

I have so many friends who work in our local VA hospital, and they’re so, so sick of having this constantly looming over their heads. It’s so demoralizing for them, because even if a shutdown happens, they’ll have to keep working (of course, that’s not what they object to, obvs.), but they won’t get paid. So basically

That is really the problem. Whatever their differences, the various factions in the Democratic Party actually want the federal government to function and do things, if they may disagree on what those things are. Post-Trump, there are just too many Republicans who simply want to blow everything up.

THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER......AS A CITATION?!?!

All of this just underlines how very good Rep. Pelosi was when she was Speaker. Keeping Dems somewhat disciplined for years, and having that discipline hold even now, is impressive.

Are you a new imposter troll? This definitely isn’t Dems fault and you definitely wouldn’t normally cite the Washington Examiner.

1. I think he’s autistic
and 2. I mean look at the poor kid’s fucking parents

He has had a few good pics of him smiling but man, the majority seem to always capture a gloomy expression.

Ah yes, the same FBI that sat around and did nothing about Larry Nassar for years.

Weirdly - If I had to intervene while my father was attacking my mother , I wouldn’t want to see him anymore either

I’m still very much in the camp of not beating up on people who end up doing the right thing after they’ve embarrassingly done the wrong thing
