And Oliver.
And Oliver.
This is mostly not true. Britain gained far more economically than it lost in the arrangement.
A large part of it is misguided anger at the failure of austerity policies.
That’s fair, but focusing on her is like focusing on Monica Lewinsky or Paula Jones: sure, those people made individually poor decisions (less by Monica, she was mostly used), but there was a massive, multi-million dollar organization behind all of that and ignoring those efforts allows them to keep working in the…
Instead of living in the past, try living in the future where we remember our mistakes and learn from them, rather then dwelling on them and reliving them over and over.
That’s fair. She’s not without blame.
She’s an idiot, but don’t for a moment pretend that she was the driving force behind this legal challenge. She was a case taken up by right wing interests to challenge the Affirmative Action law.
You should have the decency to point out that that starting line-up will play exactly 6 quarters together over the entire season.
Indeed.
I’ll help:
...that he had to be fed somehow through an eyedropper, he was being treated for meningitis with maple syrup and various — that’s not the case at all. We were treating our child with different homeopathic remedies, different herbal remedies like tens of thousands of people do.
Pippen was obviously great, but even if you look at the Knicks series the next year - ‘92 - they were bullying this shit out of him. They were in his head and he was struggling offensively and defensively. It was force of will by Jordan that eventually helped Pippen play his best ball.
Right, I mean, I mentioned that specifically.
You’re remembering ‘96-’98 and forgetting ‘87-’93. Jordan was significantly superior to Pippen through about ‘91, when Pippen stepped into his own. Jordan remained the better defender until his first retirement. Just watch the ‘92 playoff match up against the Knicks for a clear illustration of this. That team (like…
That just isn’t true. Jordan was a better defender than Pippen during the first three-peat. Pippen was superior to Jordan during the second run, but Jordan was past his physical peak and could no longer control the entire offense while guarding the opposing team’s best wing like he did before his first retirement.
Instead, I think America ... prosperous, inventive, ingenius, ... ya know ... positive thoughts?!?!?
I think there’s an inherent problem in pining for some nostalgic period of American history that never existed. It’s fairly hostile and insulting to women and minorities for whom the past - especially the period most lionized by the right, the 1950's - was oppressive and violent.
Wade and Pippen are in the same universe, historically. Pippen never won a finals MVP. Wade was the superior player to LeBron in the 2011 finals and carried a lot of weight for James during his various playoff struggles.
LeBron, despite winning twice, never really had an iconic finals moment. Magic’s hook shot, Jordan’s switch-shrug-55-flu-steal/clincher...etc.
It’s telling that you ignored everything in my response save the ad hom’s because that’s what you’re more equipped at dealing with - whining.
