Scott is really just deluding himself into thinking that everyone likes him. He’s really a kind of shitty dude, as you’ve noted, for the first half of the story and doesn’t start improving until volume 4. But he does improve, in a much more real and earned way than the movie could possibly show.

Not a single one of those games would get in Alan Wake 2's way for me, but I get why they’d move. I hope this game hits with audiences like Control did. I love seeing Remedy win.

If I were reading/watching Scott Pilgrim for the first time now, in my mid-30s, I don’t think I’d get it either, but when the movie came out I was 22, the same age-ish as the characters. I was nothing like the characters (I don’t really care about music, I had just moved and so I didn’t have any friends nearby, etc)…
