Here’s something to get you through:

Assuming that Gawker is wrong (I’m not familiar enough with Florida case law to know how supported their argument is that Bollea’s constant bragging about his sex life makes this not an invasion of privacy, but it’s not a facially absurd argument), they were - here, have a couple million and go away - wrong. Not $140

I think there are a few different things going on that are concerning people. As a former litigator, I’m most bothered by how ridiculous the judge is. I don’t care how angry and offended that jury was by Gawker posting the sex tape, the actual damages number was not supported by the evidence. It’s perfectly absurd.

I know there’s a comic book villain billionaire out to destroy Gawker Media, and y’all lost a motion in court yesterday so you’re probably having an all hands on deck meeting with staff... but that really is no excuse to delay Dirt Bag.

Don’t be stingy, explain how it works in your state!

Good point.

I didn’t mean to suggest that it was bad lawyering, just that it’s not something that requires a high degree of sophistication and super special legal skills.

On the one hand, given our nation’s surplus of underemployed JDs/lawyers, you’d think legal consultants would be easy to come by on the cheap. On the other hand, this is digital media we’re talking about, and everyone’s nervous about making this profitable, so it makes sense that they’re not indulging in consultants.

Reporting on divorce law is so skewed, I don’t blame people for being ill informed.

I should be so lucky that she considers my dreams worth haunting. Still, this is kinda funny in a “bone broth” and “white people discover collard greens” sort of way.

It doesn’t even feel like PR to me, just standard divorce filings. It’s a rare lawyer who’s not going to discourage a client from asking for less than she is arguably entitled to. The request for spousal support could be ass covering on the lawyer’s part as much as it could be a genuine desire on Heard’s. And on the

Because it’s a meaningless gesture of trust on his part. Community property laws don’t entitle her to half of his net worth. Everything he acquired before the marriage is separate property, still all his (unless he commingled, which I can’t imagine his business manager was dumb enough to do at a significant level),

This is possibly the lowest rent thing Gwyneth has ever done. Default divorces are incredibly common among people with minimal assets. They don’t have money to fight over shit, or pay lawyers to fight over shit, so they come to an agreement, one party files a petition that contains the terms they’ve agreed to, the

There was a rumor* about Sheen and Haim on the set of Lucas that was around for years before Feldman started speaking out and some of the things he was saying seemed to support the rumors. But Haim would’ve been 14 or 15 when Lucas was filmed. The rape that occurred when he was 11 was several years before Haim’s first

Reese drinks to handle herself, I’m sure she wouldn’t begrudge you another cocktail.

I don’t have to click that last link, just read the url and can explain and assure you that IT IS A LIE.

Yes, but the 95 movie is what made the material globally famous.

Things I’ve never thought of before because I never handled rich people divorce, are earnings during the marriage on a cash or accrual basis? Agree with you overall, his payout isn’t going to be that bad. She’d have no chance of getting spousal support in my state, I assume that’s something they throw in just for

Landry = Jesse Plemons (please note: I would never ship Rihanna with a basic white boy and scowl at your attempts to do so)

That sounds more like a Landry move. They did work together on Battleship.
