Back before they scaled down the $5 menu to like 4 sandwiches they had quite a bit of the menu at $5. The only stuff that really wasn't $5 was stuff like pastrami. They even had a certain premium sandwich each month that was normally $8+ drop down to $5. 

Day One is especially infuriating. I bought it back in 2013 for $5. It was great, had tons of features, no subscription plan or anything. Then in 2016 they went and released a new Day One app, stopped supporting the old one, and now have a crappy subscription model.
