Hey great point! Another example I'll give is, I grew up in the adirondacks (upstate NY) and we were all told that by the year 2000, there wouldn't be a single tree left because of acid rain and any measure to clean up air quality was already too late. It wasn't true.

Not here in western NY.... Erie is still partially frozen, we saw some snow yesterday afternoon (didn't stick, though) and after hitting 70 last week, this week is consistently in the mid-40s to mid-50s for highs, and 25-35 or so for lows...

The averages are getting warmer. The controversy isn't over this. The controversy is over the cause.

Actually poopsauce...you're behind. It's been changed to "climate change" because...they felt stupid using "global warming" with all the...you know...cooling...that's been happening.

Hopefully this is nature's natural balancing act...

Global warming WOULD be happening...if it wasn't for all the global cooling...

Sure it does. I'm not talking about a human (being smaller than an elephant) killing an elephant with a gun... "natural selection" has made the human stronger, but not by size. I'm talking on a much grander scale. The sun can wipe us out in a flash just like I can wipe out an ant colony just by stepping on it....

I never said this was just humanity's turn to die off. It could be in 100 years, 1,000 years, or a million years. But if you think it won't eventually happen, then you're lying to yourself.

Right... and there's something you can do about it yourself... this very second. Move north.

Who's lying to me? History books are lying to me? Earth has wiped out current species and provided for new ones many times over. No one is saying it'll do it again... that's my opinion. Maybe I'm wrong... maybe Earth is done with extreme weather events... and humans are the only ones that can cause them now.

Natural selection is relative to the size of the organism.

What does she mean we don't get a chance to stat over and try again? Just build a huge quarter and stick it into the north pole coin slot. Problem solved.

Best explanation: the climate changes, that's normal. Liberals are trying to cash in on that change by blaming humans.

I'm interested in human civilization existing for as long as possible... I'm just not going to kid myself. Lots of people think we'll be here forever, lots of people don't (me). To be clear, I'm not saying we'll only "last" another hundred years or so... I have no idea how much longer human civilization will be

Precisely, it is the sun. So why don't we get rid of daylight savings time and eliminate the extra hour of sunlight? It's burning my lawn.

I don't think "ignorant sh*theads" can kill the planet. Why do you think I don't believe that? Here, I'll add some fuel to your fire... I also believe in aliens and other galaxies... I don't think Earth is the only "earth" around.

They just assume its carbon in the atmosphere. The reality is that carbon is less than 1/3 of 1% and there is a giant hole in the argument because despite all this extra carbon that has been pumped into the atmosphere recently, much of it has disappeared and they can't explain where it has gone. Sun cycles make more

Never mind that there are HUNDREDS of variables involved in the function of the climate, and many, if not most, of them are not fully understood or quantified for magnitude, limits effects etc. Instead, we continue to oversimply and focus on a single (important) factor and sell it as the be-all end-all to the

"climate change is one of the most complex areas of scientific study" — here's a 3 min animated video that explains it. LOL!!!!

For one thing, his architecture's not really that great. However I did read a statement in which he apologized for his past views. This is a really easy outlet for purposeless moralizing, so watch out.
