Delightful. I’m genuinely shocked that a huge superhero event like this highlighted and underlined the fact that some of these people are queer, and their love matters to and motivates them.

THANK YOU for finally abandoning the conceit that this is “not a regular episode” that the three other reviewers used as an excuse for knocking off points.

Legit teared up at Stein’s funeral. Was bummed by his being killed off but it really does make a lot of sense dramatically. Will miss Victor Garber.

I fucking loved this crossover. The final battle was fantastic. This whole 4 part event was amazing! Just, holy shit, I’ve watched all the Arrowverse shows from the beginning and this was one hell of a payoff. Sorry but i gotta say it one more time. I fucking loved it.

Exactly. They shouldn’t judge it as a three part event at all. They don’t even have the normal intros. And to be honest, I’ve found this crossover to be a huge improvement over last year’s. Seeing these characters interact is gold. I wish they’d merge at least a couple of these shows together.

OMG enough with the complaining about how all these episodes aren’t like normal episodes of their perspective shows, already! Sheesh. You critic folks have been the biggest buzzkills about this event.

Also a sort of “gay second adolescence” can be a very real thing. Alex herself has said she never really had any relationships before Maggie.

And are we so jaded that King Shark’s cameo doesn’t even warrant a hey, King Shark!!!!!

Not Another Teen Movie was funnier than the fantastically overrated Old School. There, I said it (cue Molly Ringwald slow clap)

Haven’t seen part II yet, but this is exactly how I’ve wanted them to be doing the crossovers this whole time. Take advantage of the concept and the inherent fun in seeing them all together to slow down and let it breathe, and basically make the crossover the point rather than have a musical chairs of guest stars.

I’ve been more psyched about this crossover than Justice League which sucks since they had 400mill when this is tightly budgeted just goes to show that consistent effort pays off (the CW shows are hardly watercooler talk stuff but they do good stuff frequently).

Her mother said it was inevitable though, didn’t she? I’ve always assumed her powers alter her brain chemistry in some comic-booky way. And, of course, learning to accept and embrace that side of her personality is the solution, in an equally comic-booky way.

I loved Caitlin expressing offense at Barry just ASSUMING that metahumans who appear to be evil, actually are inevitably going to be evil.

Holy motherfucking shit.

I still don’t think the show will ever be as good as Asylum, where the show’s usual weakness of throw-everything-at-the-wall-to-see-what-sticks insanity actually worked in its favor.

I also think Asylum had the most sympathetic protagonists.

Yeah I feel like Supergirl is weirdly confident about the fact that we all forgot what Laura Benanti looked like. Which, you know, we didn’t...

Aw, I really liked this episode. I enjoyed seeing the two of them as teenagers, and how bratty each of them was, and especially how much they disliked each other. I appreciated how valid and understandable each of their perspectives were in that dislike.

I feel like I say this a lot, but I just really appreciate how

The recasting of Alura makes that scene even weirder... who is this non-Laura Benanti looking lady and why does the show treat her face as a reveal if I don’t know her.

I’m guessing they needed more time for Benoist and Leigh to film their scenes for the crossover, which is why they went with a flashback episode that didn’t require much of them, or anyone else from the cast for that matter.

I’m guessing they made this episode because they had to work out the production schedule for the crossover, and Melissa Benoist and Chyler Leigh were probably unable to do more for this episode.
