Just accepted an invite to a BL3 game from my friend... it shut down my Xbox. Great first impression.

So far I’m mostly-fine with it just being “more Borderlands,” but the technical issues are starting to pile up:
If that’s the case I’m full on board (and after 3 years I’ll probably just get whatever they announce, so I hope it’s not crap like this year).
Having bought an iPhone 8 two years ago, I was absolutely ready to upgrade to the new offerings this year. After that snoozefest of a press event, I think I’m going to give it another year and see if Apple has anything more interesting in 2020. My iPhone 8 battery and performance is still fantastic, so hopefully I can…
Never say never. EA’s service could go under in the future with such a strong competitor in Game Pass. ;)
My wife and I had a blast with the first two games... but this is really bad timing with all the other games coming out/available to play. I am currently in the middle of, or actively playing:
I’ve probably commented about this before, but walking out IT: Chapter 2 felt exactly like walking out of Lady in the Water. Both films were marketed as horror films, and both films were comedies instead. I heard the same “It wasn’t even scary” remarks walking out of IT as I did Lady in the Water, and I feel so bad…
Why the hell would they make a Haloween themed drink milky white and not... orange? I get that it’s a “mystery flavor” but still... gross.
Was going to reply, but you did it for me. Thank you. I don’t think people realize that almost ALL free-to-play games are sustained by whales, period. The money gained from the top 1-5% of players always sustains the rest of the players, most of whom spend little to nothing on the game. I have a decade of experience…
Cosmetics in games are worth exactly what players are willing to spend on them. If Respawn/EA weren’t making truckloads of cash from $11 and $18 skins, they wouldn’t be priced that high. People seem to forget that subreddits and other online forums represent just a tiny fraction of the overall player-base for…
Boy, my experience has been very different. I was dragged into it after managing to avoid WoW since it’s launch... and it’s exactly what I expected. Extremely boring fetch quests with awful random drop rates. Really basic “right-click-and-press-number keys” gameplay. Overly-complicated mechanics with poor-to-zero…
I just can’t wrap my mind around the appeal of wanting to play any MMORPG in it’s launch state - much less one of the original MMORPGs. Yes, I never got into WoW, so I don’t have any nostalgia for it, but based on what I’ve read/seen about the launch game (and this launch), it feels like that those happy feelings…
I’m amazed that a Nintendo IP actually got a complicated social/personal issue right for once. Really good article, and kudos to you for speaking out about something I believe a lot of people are afraid to admit or discuss. It’s not strictly a man vs woman issue, but I’m pretty sure the vast majority of situations are…
Which studios has Microsoft ruined in the past? From my understanding, acquired studios have been pretty happy working under MS, as they get a lot of creative freedom to make what they want. I don’t think MS deserves the same hate as, say, EA or Activision.
All those reasons are either bullshit, or the result of poor planning/management. The BR genre is not exactly brand new, and ignoring the mistakes of multiple other huge BR games in the past is pretty crappy. Part of making a successful game in a crowded genre is iterating and improving on the concepts and experience…
How did Respawn not plan for this? This has been an issue with basically every BR game prior to Apex, and those games built in reporting and other means to deal with it. I would understand if Apex launched with a solo mode and had this issue, as it could have been too far in development to address teaming as it arose…
There are plenty of activities that offer powerful gear (raises light level) outside of the paid content. Bungie has already been implementing simple quests that offer gear to help people jump up more quickly, but this is definitely a smart move. I have friends that were immediately more interested in hopping back in…
Ah, the couch developer strikes again!
Nice! I’ll keep an eye out for it.
Wait, he thinks that was his voice saying “that was some good-ass Tekken”?! That seems... doubtful. I was at EVO, and it definitely sounded like a parody. If it was, Hayter needs to chill.
