Sure, but I can understand someone underestimating what that level of scrutiny actually feels like. Especially someone like Kumail Nanjiani: a man in his 40's whose career was mostly comedy prior to this point.

“a high-end matchmaker in New York who strikes up a relationship with a wealthy man while still harboring feelings for the broke waiter/aspiring actor she left behind”

Disney also gave her multiple chances to conform with company policy before letting her go. That alone with the morality clause in her contract likely gives them cover.

I look forward to these people someday realizing that freedom of speech does not actually mean freedom from consequence when you’re talking about a private corporation/entity/employer. Yes, Gina and Elon, you can say whatever the hell you want. But you can still face the repercussions.

That's the whole point.

Your write-up on Miley is missing one crucial fact... her performance, from every “exaggerated move” to her outfit to performing like “a rockstar by way of Vegas”, was clearly a Tina Turner tribute.

“I refused to because I’m like, ‘I feel really uncomfortable right now and this is the only evidence,” Fox said.

How is that weird?

I’m not sure we’re supposed to feel too bad for him. I read it more as “this asshole is going to snap when reality hits him.”

I thought his issue with this season was that it also doesn’t plagiarize Thomas Ligotti and Alan Moore verbatim.

Call me old fashioned, but I remember when they used to hire famous and/or talented people to host SNL.

Well this sounds better than I expected. It is encouraging that they dumped most of the movie premise & that it is a nice showcase for the talented Maya Erskine & she is not overshadowed by the more famous Donald Glover

That’s a bit like saying Vaughn’s blander than Wonder Bread given that Ritchie himself isn’t as punk or whatever as he presents either. Not that you’re wrong about Vaughn.

Might be a hot take if it weren’t so objectively true.

Idk if it's a hot take, but I think Matthew Vaughn is a decent mainstream director who desperately wants to be punk rock, but has nothing to say and no real style of his own. So he just comes off as a cheap Guy Ritchie knockoff.

People still care about the nepo baby thing?  I thought that had correctly faded away.

He has a twenty year directing career with several Oscar and Golden Globe noms, I think he has chops. Not to mention he grew up around some of these characters.

They’re right, it’s specifically someone’s job to make sure the firearms on set are safe. Alec Baldwin is not that person.

Executive producers aren’t in charge of hiring below-the-line crew members like firearm “experts.” If there was some evidence, like an email or a text message of Baldwin recommending Gutierrez to the line producer or UPM, then I guess you could hold him accountable. And when the civil suits start coming in, I don’t
