Ramsey tries to impart some kind of Christian moralism in how people manage their finances (which basically amounts to “debt: evil”, I guess because hedonists might enjoy their lives too much rather than living lives of holy asceticism or something). As soon as you start letting biases like that inform your “system,”

Ha. I came here just to comment on Ramsey’s business with churches.

The Catch-22 is that you’ve got to be able to have a few years without a car payment in order to pay cash for one. That’s a hard hurdle to get over, more often than not.

This. Many, many years ago, we bought one of his books and listened to a couple of his shows. His initial advice of not spending money you don’t have, and to pay off your credit cars and try and live a cash & carry lifestyle was good advice for the most part. He did admit that mortgages were fine, and to pay extra

But you can give those people reasonable advice without giving information that is blatantly false.

Dave Ramsey is a stinking pile of shit and his show is for entertainment value only. He peddles basic financial advice like “spend less than you make” and has very limited understanding of financial planning. Ramsey works the church crowd because some churches get a kickback on fees. He is a quasi-televangelist. I’d

What they need is unfortunately, not what they want.

That screams “bargain-bin DVD” or “used game” to me. I know it’s darker than the generic gray, but still gives me the same vibes.

Fair point. You kind of need the gadget mobile...on the one hand police are supposed to be friendly and approachable in their interactions with the public...on the other, we want them to apprehend criminals, which demands a degree of authority, strength and intimidation. All the more reason to look at community

Non-existent?

You’re not wrong. As I posted elsewhere on this mess of a comment section, anyone with half a brain would have done their best to avoid this. Furthermore, this was in an area that most people should be avoiding given the political climate (Times Square - you know it’s going to be a hot spot for protests).

I’d take a Niva over almost any Chinese vehicle.

You know the “cattle pusher” on the front was designed to push disabled and crashed vehicles out of the road way. Do they have other uses sure can they be used for other things sure but just keep in mind what it’s for. It’s not to intimidate it’s purely functional.

You make a fair point.  And your picture is worth a thousand words.

Yep, this guy sounds like a real POS arguing that it's fine to hit unarmed citizens.

It's not "a Ford Explorer," it's a Ford Explorer that's intentionally modified and colored so as to appear sleek and aggressive. When you think of first responders providing a person with aid, a blacked out SUV with a cattle-pusher is not what comes to mind and it doesn't communicate "I'm here to help"

The wagon revolution starts with mandated wagons for cops.

Where did I excuse any of those companies?

why a police vehicle should be held responsible for running over someone
