Yeah, I don’t disagree, I think I was always a viewer more for the hosts and their stories, the cars were the thing they were talking about but it wasn’t why I tuned in. I could listen to Clarkson talk about and bash a $150K luxury car that I could not possibly care one bit about because Clarkson made it entertaining

While true, I never thought much of the original show was genuinely improvised either, that wasn’t really an expectation I had. I still think they genuinely enjoy making the show and that seems like enough for me.

I agree. I didn't have a ton of interest in a lot of the cars the English Top Gear covered, but they interesting and they got bashed when they were bad.
