There’s just a certain charm to video game commercials from the 1st through 5th generations that make me prefer those. Xbox and post PS1 Playstation commercials always bored me. Nintendo’s have been okay but not as good as their NES and SNES stuff. I’m not sure if that’s nostalgia or just a preference though.

OMGSH this song is amazing!

Man... Missed out on some dopeness.

I was coming to say the same thing about the lack of Sega.

Heroes wasn’t bad really. If they didn’t do that stupid team thing, it wouldn’t have been bad at all. So from 04 - 2010, there were 2 really bad games in the main series (06 and Unleashed). Since Colors though, they’ve seemed to have righted the ship. The last 3 games aren’t perfect 10s, but they aren’t 5s and 6s

Yeah dude, the level themes for Colors and Lost World are really good. I couldn’t stand Unleashed as a game, but the level music was awesome. Reminded me of the Saturn for some reason lol.

I actually preferred the 3D portions of Generations and Sonic Colors was better than Generations to me.

You just described Lost World. Hold down the trigger he runs faster and you could do parkour. If you pressed the other trigger he would do a spin dash and fly through the stage. I thought it was brilliant, I’d love those mechanics in an Adventure type game.

Have you listened to Unleashed, Colors or Lost Worlds OSTs? They pretty much abandoned that guitar stuff.

Really, does Zelda, Metroid or Mario gain anything by being attached to their protagonists? Not really... The thing that made classic Sonic so great wasn’t speed at all really... It was the exploration. Something they seemed to forget for awhile and remembered starting with Colors.

For me personally, the better question would be what make me NOT get excited about a new Sonic the Hedgehog game (as long as we’re talking about Sonic Team). Honestly, the only main games in the series I didn’t like were Sonic 06, Adventure 2 and Unleashed. Heroes was okay, Lost World was cool but definitely not

I was coming here to say just that.

To be fair, shovelware existed long before the Wii.

It sounds like Kevin Michael Richardson more than T.C. Carson.

“as they say”

Yeah I know, but I posed it as a question as to not sound like a know it all.

Weren’t 2 and 3 by the same developer?

It’s better than Korra, but Korra only cost like $15, so it got a little bit more of a pass.

What do you play?
