This one is testing my resolve. I have a trailer, it’s only about an hour away from me, and we’re coming up on a three day weekend.

...where would Tesla’s shares be...

The motivation for becoming a cop is often at odds with being a good cop.

It’s not only you.

I don’t fault the cop’s lawyer for trying it, since he is obligated to offer his client the best defense, but it should have been denied immediately.  There are enough problems with qualified immunity without extending it to cops’ personal lives.

Someone’s gotta be the smart ass, right?

...a larger pack takes longer to charge”

That was my concern with the LeSabres from the mid nineties to the mid aughts. I still think Buick might be the answer, but it looks like a LaCrosse is going to offer a better value now. LeSabres are just too old. They have all been passed down through several tiers of owners needing ever cheaper transportation.

Cheapest, no, but best value, maybe. With the prices of used cars still historically high, a new car with zero miles can be a better value than a 3 year old car with 50,000.

An average transaction price higher than starting MSRP isn’t necessarily indicative of dealer markups.

Is the answer no longer LeSabre? For the last couple of decades, the answer to “I need something reliable and cheap” has been a used Buick. They sold a crapload of LeSabres to people who largely didn’t drive them, maintaining an ample supply of Buicks with low-for-the-year mileage.

Why does this seem so much worse knowing that the (alleged) perpetrator is 31 years old and not a delinquent teen?

“All parts for this vehicle, whether internal or from suppliers, need to be designed and built to sub 10 micron accuracy.”

But do you really trust a Buick to sit for most of the year and then be dependable and reliable on an East Coast winter road trip?

It’s like if, instead of replacing each board of the ship of Theseus one at a time, they just used the whole thing for firewood and then built a new ship using the hardware they dug out of the ashes.

That purple Monaco reminded me of Eddie Winslow’s car.
