First-gen Mirai

22 year-old female driver on her way to school loses Focus.

This Sable. I don’t know about the overall market for Sables, but I opened up Craigslist, sorted by price, and scrolled down to the first car that I would consider if I were in dire need of basic transportation right now.

I hadn’t even considered that only half of the circuits would be live. That’s a good point.

Yes and no. The breaker limits how much power can go through the breaker box to the rest of the house, but anything plugged into the same circuit as the generator isn’t limited. I don’t have any 110 outlets on their own circuits. A 220 outlet is far more likely to have a dedicated line (US, residential).

What is protecting the wire from the circuit breaker to the stove outlet?

I should have been clearer. I feed the house through a dedicated (stove) 220V circuit. My 1500W limit was for backfeeding through a 110 outlet.

Generally, to power a whole house you would have a more permanent installation of a stationary generator wired in with a transfer switch.

I have a 100 ft suicide cable I plug into the outlet for my stove to back-feed the house. Done right, it’s perfectly safe. Do I trust people buying 110V suicide cables from Amazon to do it right? Um...

This is absurd.  Now I think I need a supercharger for my 9-7x.  Will an LS2 handle 8 psi on the stock lower?

Don’t look for a specific vehicle. Cast a wide net. Focus on avoiding rust (you may have to look outside of New York).

Since today is all about the Mustang, I agree. Cheap, plentiful parts. Strong support network. Tutorials for any procedure available on Youtube.

“My buddy’s Mustang”

The mid-winter time for the NAIAS sucked, because cold and snow and Detroit, but it made it the first show on the calendar, and it was just far enough into winter when everyone is looking for an excuse to get out of the house.

This seems to follow the modern emphasis of “gamifying” every aspect of our lives. It could work. I love this and I hate this.

The last time I went to the NAIAS, it was to see the Buick Avista in 2016. I knew about it and wanted to see it.

Something has broken in my head when I see a $55k MSRP, and think it seems reasonable. I guess it just feels less ludicrous than most car prices I see these days.

Which current car?

How much is it worth to you to be unique? There is nothing that this franken-truck-van can do that an actual van couldn’t do better for half the price even with still-inflated used van prices.

That’s got nothing on the Hammerhead Eagle i-Thrust
