When you cut an organization’s budget it offers less services and runs less efficiently. Also, since Amtrak still has to share lines with the ever-increasing and poorly-maintained freight train lines it won’t matter what is cut because they’re still gonna have to wait 40 minutes for a freight train to pass.

Amtrak is well underfunded, which might be why you think their service isn’t “efficient”

Public services are not a bad thing, nor does anyone actually think they are “free”. We think they are a good use of taxpayer money.
