I’m shocked at all the comments making fun of people’s grief at the results. Some people were genuinely scared of the damage this administration would do to healthcare and civil rights. What’s so funny about that dread?

I get it. I suppose it was more of a funny, light suggestion than a command.
That’s really rude of her. Back off a bit and see if she misses you enough to initiate contact.
I can absolutely see that happening. I already get the feeling that they see me as living a very juvenile life. Their vacations, holidays, hopes and dreams are just more meaningful and mature than mine. Oh well, I’m cool with it.
I’m mad that I always have to be the one to call and check in on my friends who are parents. They’re always happy to chat but can’t actually pick up the phone because they’re so tired and busy and you have no idea how much work this is and I know you’re getting your doctorate/taking care of elderly relatives/have a…
Are you looking for a reason to be outraged today? Calling this article “aggressively prescriptive” is beyond ridiculous. Take a chill pill/drink/blunt and relax sir.
My grandma is having some health issues and was worried about money for doctor stuff and I’m really proud that I was able to just wire her some money to get it done. She was so appreciative and relieved and said some nice things and I’m just so happy that I could have helped!
I’m sad that the USVI is being ignored even more than Puerto Rico. They’re suffering too and need help!
I thought so as well.
It’s quite upsetting that the USVI is being neglected even more than Puerto Rico. Why is that?
I do hope that they make a stop in the Virgin Islands as well.
Ah :)
What’s the issue with Airbus? I love that A330 flight to Europe.
And why the fuck should US citizens have to play the game in a different country? Because people are uncomfortable with their right to peacefully protest?
I don’t even think that you can speak for anyone but yourself tbh. Quite a few non-Americans seem to be able to grasp the meaning of this protest.
That is the truth. People are suffering but to some folks we’re only beaches and fruity drinks and locals trained to cater to your every need. Ask me about the time two women in bikinis wandered into our cathedral during Sunday service and started taking pictures of each other in the aisle.
Caribbean folks are a resilient bunch but this is the ultimate test of our spirit. My heart aches for those preparing to go through this hurricane ordeal once more.
Your initial question was why do people build wooden houses and the answer should be obvious, even to you. Wooden houses are cheaper to construct. Clearly if you’re building a wooden house in an area prone to storms, it’s because that’s the best you can do. However, all bets are off in a category 4/5 hurricane. Even…
Oh really? In much of the Caribbean the rental market is quite small. Poor people do build houses because there is no other option or because the rentals are scarce and possibly expensive. These houses may be wooden or poorly constructed but they do exist.
You’re asking why sometimes poor people tend to build wooden houses over brick?
