I was more eyeballing the mooted 2019-2020 as mentioned in the article. But F1 is a fast moving sport. Mercedes could be junk by then. Red Bull could be competitive again. Who knows? I got hard when Ricciardo got the Red Bull seat for 2014, but then they produced their worst car in 5 years. His performance that season

I don’t think anything will change in the driver market for next year. Bottas will get another short term deal, and then we’ll see when a bunch of top driver contracts expire in 2018.

Success can be measured in either dollars or wins. If shooting for dollars, a top talent driver should be looking for short contracts early in his career and long contracts later. Team owners want the opposite, of course - longer when they’re young (and cheap) and shorter when they’re old (and expensive). Same applies

If memory serves correct, the late great Ayrton Senna used to sign a 1 year, with a possible 1 year extension, contract with teams. I’m not very confident about that but I know I’ve heard it at least once.

Romain to Ferrari and me to Merc.

I think Wolff might still want Vettel. So until Seb signs for Ferrari again, he may not announce anything. Probably a dumb choice since Bottas is very good at development and quite consistent while not causing any friction within the team. Seb is known for grabbing a team and wrapping it around himself so that won’t

They only needed 500 on asphalt before reverse entries and huge smoke became the norm. You’re right, Sprint cars are pretty specialized, but they do also run on asphalt. Lots of weight transfer and an emphasis on rear traction are key...just like in drift. Actually a lot of sprint car parts are used in drift cars.

Somehow I keep forgetting that there are literally only two cars in the world you can buy, a Giulia and a Camry. You’re better than this, Graverobber! But judging by half the... things you post on NP or CP, I think maybe you’re a masochist.

Actually, it’s about ethics in games journalism.

Danica wants to win. She’s showing it through her frustration. Watch the pit video of her kicking the car after she exited the Coke Zero 400.

Listen, just because she was faster than Jolyon Palmer doesn’t mean she’s ready for F1.

There is a lady at my local track who races open and closed wheel. She’s in her late 60's. The first time I met her, I asked why she raced and she said and I quote “Because I’m bad at knitting”.

That’s what the dealer *wants* her to do, that way they can sell it at a markup to some other customer. The right move would be to wait them out while embarrassing them on social media as much as possible.

Same shit as with the Focus RS. She should cancel the order, get a refund and file a complaint with HoA. Yeah I know, independent dealers and all, but Honda can limit the dealers allocations. Also, this car will be a dime a dozen on lots by spring. Just stop being impatient and wait a few months.

I hate car dealers. Dealing with them is the worst.

It actually exists. I saw a silver one in person, in all places, Croatia.

A modern Mazda 6 wagon would be amazing.

For every yin, there’s a yang. My wife refuses anything but hatchbacks and wagons.

As an owner of a blue wagon, I highly enjoyed this article. Now to go find $55k USD so I can get one. Well, or wait a few years and watch the used market.

Edgar Wright makes movies for film geeks by film geeks, all the callbacks within the movie, hard homages to French New Wave and Silver Age Hollywood with the Breathless/Bonnie and Clyde inspired broken sunglasses, jump cuts, clear action, foreshadowing and lovely frame composition.
