Agreed. It’s because it starts as being read left to right, then switches from top to bottom, then has a second top to bottom column. It’s not at all logical and confuses the reader in what should be a straight forward joke.

If you didn’t know anyone in the game going in, it just felt like a chore.

While I agree, seeing films in theaters is ideal and an experience I love, having that as a requirement for what makes it a film is ridiculous. Most of the academy doesn’t even watch these movies in theaters. They watch screeners at home on their TVs. Hell most “films” aren’t even shot on film anymore.
