@PrisonBreakShaker: I am breathing fire over that comment. That's the whole point of Audrey Hepburn, that she's singular and inimitable. Natalie Portman is great, sure. She's super pretty and classy and down-to-earth and depending on who you ask, talented. So can she just be really good at being Natalie Portman

@newlymrs: 1. People tend not to "mind their own business" when you're on a reality show, the very purpose of which is to have strangers view, consume, and judge your life. If Phaedra was some random person thrust into the spotlight, not being paid for an inside look at her life, I'd be inclined to agree with you.

@LolaLane: Well, when someone's saying, "You just want to be Italian, like us!" And you're Italian and they're not, it's just kind of a giant "huh?" I'm with you that race/ethnicity is a totally arbitrary designation, but it's a designation with which these particular girls are obsessed.

@Wandell: I'm with you. I feel like people think if you object to anyone having an abortion, then you say that abortion is wrong, abortion is murder, take women's rights away, etc.

I don't know if Christmas came early or late for me re The Kennedys, but I'm thrilled by this outcome. I could give a shit that it was going to be malicious towards the Kennedys, I'm just delighted not to be subjected to Katie Holmes as Jackie.

I'd love to see that first image unphotoshopped. That model's torso just doesn't occur in nature.

That bit about Amber sounds exactly like something you'd read about Britney in her Adnan Galib phase.

@rd2uk: I'm willing to back up your point if only because you know it's "toeing" the line and not "towing."

@lost_grrl: But I mean, the guy did announce his girlfriend's pregnancy and subsequent miscarriage. For people who are actually protective of their privacy (e.g. Brad & Angelina), they don't even admit they're pregnant until they're crowning.

@BitchyD: Right. I thought it meant you were lying if you look to your left, not the audience's left. I mean, homegirl is a lying trainwreck, no doubt. But I thought that was the rule, speaker's left.

I can't understand why Jez covers this show (other than its popularity). It's essentially a minstrel show, except with women. And it's repulsive.

@rd2uk: Looking at the other comments, it seems like most commenters took it the way you did. Maybe I'm not being critical enough. I can definitely see the critics' point, and I think it might have felt more in Jez's wheelhouse to do a post on the uniformity of white chicks when aspiring towards beauty. I guess my

@rd2uk: I might have missed something, but I think that was the point. That in this case, you take Asian individuals and they're transformed into their cultural standard of beauty. If they were sorority chicks, we'd see them transformed into the WASPy standard of beauty. I think the reason one ethnic group was used

@BitchyD: But it was to her right. It's supposed to be to the speaker's left, no?

@otherginger: I'm with you. In fact, I read when filming began that he had pushed her to do it. If it were a matter of damage control, this would be a new story. I'm not saying she's not horrible nor that it was strictly at his urging that she did this show, but he's a smart enough guy to see an opportunity opening

I'm really troubled by the comments from those who seem to have just come upon this story and think these women found a brilliant way around the system. The reason for this bizarre pardon/sentence suspension (you've never heard of someone getting a "get out of jail free card" in exchange for an organ before, have

@SgtPepper: Amazing. True story: I chose that user name having never listened to the album because my freshman year at college, when I arrived on campus, my sister had already sent a Cool Kid care package of like, a rad backpack and a Bob Dylan album (unfortunately, that one), etc. So when I think of that album,

@SgtPepper: Take your rational, level-headed approach to a loaded subject and be gone!

@badwendy: There's a STMD reference? I'll look into this.

@BeckySharper: I was thinking of 55th Street and 7th Avenue! That's why I thought, "Why? Is he headed to Carnegie Deli?" I totally misunderstood; you're right on the money with your estimation. He was probably going to hang out with Jonathan Safran Foer or something.
