The key to effective investment is recognizing the point in time when the psychology of the masses and the financials of a company are at odds with each other and acting on it appropriately.  

It’s about 5% of my retirement investment right now, and has a great upside potential as a dividend income source so it’s worth taking a chance to me.  I’m long on LM at an average cost basis of $40 or so with a similar initial investment, with a lump of C as well.  Last time I made the mistake of getting out early…

Indeed. My investment horizon is something like 2040, so I’m pretty happy with where I’m at. Been collecting the dividends in a low risk fund since then, and am considering reinvesting them whenever this cycle looks to have bottomed out.  

I have 10,000 shares of F with an average cost basis of around $2. I could have cashed out a while back, but I believe the long term (15-20 years) will reward me handsomely with respect to overall value as well as dividends. I’m in for the long haul. They need another Alan Mulally.

If I tried to enter a country on a tourist visa and they determined I was there for business, this is exactly what I would expect to happen.  Not sure why anyone is acting like this was unexpected or out of the ordinary.

I had a ball joint pop out of my control arm on my Mustang once, car turned awesome to the right, not at all to the left. Made it two very confusing laps before I ended up in the weeds. The new rule is ball joints and control arms are replaced at the same time.

Video game related violence is getting out of hand. 

Went to Denmark in the summer for a business trip, got upgraded to an Audi convertible, drove all over the country from Copenhagen to Aarhus to Rinkobing with the top down over 5 days.  Came back with a tan.  Best business trip ever.
