And this is why my children will not play shooters, let alone online games, until they learn some freaking self restraint and patience.

Local gadget-blogger discovers one weird trick to end email spam! ISPs HATE him!
It's not about the length, it's whether or not the game is good enough to keep us engaged in it.
PC - Personal Computer.
But you agree they're custom PCs, which is what I'm trying to say. DSLR or Point and Shoot, they're both still cameras in essence. That is what I'm saying. Looking at what Valve's making, why the heck are we not allowed to call it a Console at all? As we all agree, specs and everything aside, they're both technically…
Dude, chill out. No need to throw around insults, even considering what we're talking about.
But they're both still cars, which is what I'm getting at. In essence, a console is a computer. How else would it be able to run the games or the OSes?
...Well... actually, you could upgrade the RAM in your Nintendo 64...
As it has been stated below, a console (hardware wise) is a PC; completely and totally. There's no way those suckers can't be a computer of any time or else they couldn't run the games. Software wise they use custom OSes and other stuff that makes them different. But does that change the fact that they are still…
Hahaha, challenge accepted! Granted, I don't have 250 dollars to spare (poor college student, I know), but at some point in my life I will take this challenge up. Or at least the relative equivalent of a PS3 to that day.
The point I WAS getting across was the consoles, from a hardware point, are just custom PCs. Cause in essence, a console IS a computer, it wouldn't be able to run anything if it wasn't.
If a car is built custom with alternate parts and very different techniques, heck say it runs on a different fuel; does that mean it's not a car? You can make it as different from the other models as you want, it's still the same basic principle and it still accomplishes the same function.
So Apple computers can run Windows programs successfully without any unofficial modification either hardware-wise or software-wise?
They could if they wanted to
What's the difference? Seriously, tell me what's the difference. If you strip down the OSes of a Console and PC, you have very similar machines, the only difference being the horse-power and source of parts. This like saying a Lamborghini isn't a car apposed to say a Chevy.
Can we please stop it with this "refusal to call it a console, so let's call it custom PC" garbage? Let's be perfectly honest, EVERY console is a custom PC.
Where's the One Must Fall: 2097 love?!
The big advantage of this system is that they don't have to worry about a launch library, it's all already there. But if they launched Half-Life 3 exclusive to this, not only would they get a bunch of nerd-raging fans, but a lot of sales as well.
It actually is most of the time. Many people were pissed that CnC4 sucked and blamed the devs, but the situation was that the publisher (EA, ironically) kept rushing the game, pulled key members of the team, and made frequent budget cuts.
