Here are a few of my spooky encounters over the years:
-One summer when I was in law school, I worked at a small law firm whose offices were in a 100+ year old house. It was a very small firm, and the offices of the attorneys, paralegal, and assistants were spread out over the whole house. And I knew every person that

Every summer, my wife’s family spends two weeks at a lakeside cabin that they share with other members of the extended family. The cabin was built by my wife’s grandfather and sits at the end of a dead end road. Beyond the street’s end is a dense wooded area. I’ve only ventured back there one time, where we found an

My mom’s *crazy*.

In the greys, late, but fuck it.

We moved into a new to us house 6 months ago. There are 2 large bedrooms upstairs, and 2 small bedrooms on the main floor. My husband and I take one of the upstairs bedrooms and our 2 year old daughter is in the other. Since moving in, she’s been a bad sleeper - up several times during the night, sometimes crying,

When I was in high school, I worked at an event space that was part of my town’s park district. It was a 12,000 square foot mansion built in the early 1910s, which was owned for many years by a Chicago industrialist who left the property to his orphaned, penniless niece. She eventually deeded it to the town in

Wait, so this post has been around since 10/3 and I’m only now seeing it? I’ve been following this post for over 10 years and look forward to it every October. What a lame announcement this year.

It’s the 80s it’s Halloween on a weekday and I, being the oldest and a girl, am responsible for taking 2 younger brothers trick or treating, along with 2 young sons of my parents’ friends. My parents and the kids’ parents are at our house playing cards and and smoking cigarettes.

My favorite aunt “Laura” killed herself several years ago.

I was always a weird kid. Quiet, anxious, always thinking I heard voices in the night or saw shadows cross my room. As I grew up, I started having — not visions, really, but maybe premonitions?

My parents came to the US from South America in the 70’s. So we were always having family/friends to California for a visit. Part of the touring was always going to see the Queen Mary, retired ship and presently a hotel. It kinda looks like the Titanic when you squint.

Maybe too late to the game, but here’s my only (personal) story:

I’m not really a believer in the supernatural, but I had a ghost in my old apartment.

Over the first lockdown, I decided to download a sleep tracker and take my sleep hygiene more seriously, as I’ve had interrupted sleep since childhood. It wasn’t hard to use—- I’d tell the tracker I was going to sleep, put it beside me, and then turn it off on the morning.

Okay, I’ll try to make a brief one that’s not as scary as others, just mildy interesting and mysterious. I’ll also preface this with - I am NOT a great writer.

I live in the house that was my grandparents’, now my mom’s house, and my husband and I take care of her.

The House

this is a story my mom told me and to this day it still freaks her out to talk about it. what makes it creepier is that my mom doesn’t believe in paranormal things related to ghosts or aliens, so you know its definitely not BS. my sibilngs and cousin were also there and they 100% confirm this happened.

The forest changed
