It deserves a less wanky clickbait title to an article. How about ‘Last Night’s Top Gear was Brilliant, despite low viewing figures’. Some positivity would help the show, the continually negative press here and elsewhere is going to kill the show.

Before the season aired, Rory Reid was interviewed on Car Throttle and said that he and Monkey Harris were in 5 of the episodes in the run. As the live segments are filmed the week before they are aired I don’t think anything has changed.

It was still the most watched show on BBC 2 that day and was up against Soccer Aid on ITV, which is a pretty popular one off charity football game.

It was thoroughly enjoyable with quite a few genuine laugh out loud moments. A resounding 8 out of 10.

Chris Evans has the experience, the issue i had was that he was too much like his other shows. He needs to take it down a notch or two and it’ll be fine. He’s used to a drunken audience on a Friday night with live music and guests.

It was pretty good, about as good as early old new Top Gear, about a 6.5 out of 10.

The old new Top Gear was just the same during the first 2 to 3 seasons. So much so that a presenter was replaced.

A combination of poor TV scheduling and god-awful cars is the problem. I simply find it impossible to take the cars seriously because they look like glorified go karts, the sort you find next to mini golf places.
