No doubt that these are extremely fun cars. In comparison to the ford, expect very high maintenance and service cost on the AMG.

Dont forget the service A and B and whatever else they need. A service B is usually engine/cabin air filters, fuel filter, and a visual inspection of the brakes/rest of the vehicle. Expect to pay $1200 for that alone.

next generation Buick lacrosse?

I'm thinking next generation buick lacrosse. The current lacrosse is what 4 or 5 years old? Its due for a refresh.

Call me crazy, but the shape of the rear end reminds me a lof of the last generation oldsmoible aurora. The wheels look more buick to me. Maybe it a next generation lacrosse?

Changing the product naming convention is always tricky. People finally know and are familiar with the CTS and ATS. What happens when a buyer walks into a showroom and says, "I want a CTS". The sales rep says, sorry those are gone. "How about the CT5?" No, I wanted a CTS. Bye.

If it has pneumatic actuators to open/close the valves. Does that mean the engine needs its own air compressor, air pressure regulator, a feed and return line? If so, does adding in all the other components negate the gains by removing the cam?

It would be an amazing combination with a TT engine. As it stands currently, I think the GS is overpriced. The current regal is so close to being an amazing car. It just needs more power.
