He said the revs would drop to 500 then surge up to 1k then shut off when slowing down at a light and shifting into neutral.

These cars were unstoppable. I almost grew up in a 1996 camry le station wagon. It was dark green and had a seat in the trunk. Unfortunately it got totaled in an accident, otherwise, there is no doubt in my mind that it'd still be on the road.

Have you had any issues with your 2014 model randomly shutting off at stop lights? Talked to someone yesterday who has a 2014, said it has died on him 11 times last week. Ford cant recreate the problem and there is no check engine light on.

I agree with you. It does have a bit of a grand am essence to it.

Thanks for posting this. Glad to see the MS3 isnt dead. I wonder how the 2.3l turbo from mazda will compare to the upcoming 2.3 turbo that'll be in the mustang.

Thats crazy that the dealer said it wasnt broken. What model saturn do you have?

Wow, not safe at all. On my alero, if the keychain gets downward force from hitting a big bump, the car shuts off. Not a lot of tension holding the key in the on position.

I also have an 03 alero! Wonder if this is another recall waiting to happen

Speaking of which, where is the mazdaspeed with the new body/chassis? Is the 2.3 turbo from the current gen mazdaspeed3?

The new WRX/GTI are out performing the ST. In terms of acceleration, a toyota camry v6 is just as fast. In the midwest, we dont have nice curvy roads, its all straight line performance.

    grand am...HAHAHA

Thats assuming we even get the RS in north america. The current focus ST runs 0 to 60 in 6.1 seconds. Just as fast as the Toyota Camry v6. Please ford, give us the 2.3 turbo in a focus. Otherwise, subaru and vw are going to take over this segment.

How bad is the road noise?

Thanks. I know there was talk about them switching to another system. Guess that hasnt happened yet.

The ignition switch on my alero will shut off so easily. I'm honestly surprised they arent recalling alero's too. Then again, maybe they figure there arent enough of them on the road to make it worth their while.

It most likely wont be here in the US. Also the slower 0 to 60 time is going to turn off a lot of drivers, especially ones who live in cities and need the brisk acceleration around town.

Any word if their infotainment is still the microsoft system? Hard to tell by the pics above, but cant tell if it says powered by microsoft under the sync logo.

Wonder what the focus RS will cost in comparison to the $26k ST.

Same engine. Just a cosmetic upgrade.

New dash looks great. I like that there is a little cubby for a cell phone. I wish the 2.0 was e85 capable.
