You can but forceful play may destroy the joystick, which from what I was seeing tended to be a common occurrence when smash got released. That’s what I’m trying to figure out.

How do the buttons feel with respect to sturdiness vs. the 3DS XL? I am curious if they would hold up better to spirited smash brothers use compared to the various tales of joystick dying when Smash Brothers came out on that console.

Now this is a game that could use a remake.

Any word on whether they made the sticks more robust for playing Smash brothers? I heard too many stories of those sticks getting spanked by that game.
