yeah that has been a long running TG joke. Remember when they tried to come back to the US and they had to make sure not to be too “entertaining” and remained “factual” about their reporting.

It’s been a running gag on the show for a while that they joke about after winning some award in the UK and the category was “factual programs.”

I think part of the problem with saying certain things on the BBC specifically was that it’s state-owned and operated. Clarkson’s paycheck primarily came from the British taxpayers. It’s harder to justify non-PC things when everyone in your country has to fund them whether they want to or not.

I understand that. Just Amazon Prime catalogue in Canada sucks big time. So it is like the equivalent of paying 80$ CDN annually jus to watch these guise (mind you, now that I mention this, still worth it ;-)
