No, he's serious.  It's an actual episode.  I dunno, they're all fun to watch.

Time stopped WHILE he did FEAR AND LOATHING.

It was achingly, crushingly serious and glum.  Not grim.  Glum.  There's a difference.  Even the extraordinarily beautiful Gabrielle Union couldn't make this show fun to watch.

The two TV-movies, THE NIGHT STALKER and THE NIGHT STRANGLER, are on DVD, and the show itself is on DVD and Netflix streaming.  Quite fun, I recommend giving it a watch.  McGavin is a blast.
