I had that on cassette, got it when I accompanied my folks to a quiz night and got to pick a prize from a table. First CD I owned was LOAD, I guess nobody noticed that the cover was a lovely blood and jizz cocktail…

Silverchair - Freak Show. That was some good teenage angst, right there.

That was a pretty awesome moment as a Perth cinemagoer

I thoroughly enjoyed this film, don't expect any action though. The "man holding a gun" posters are rather deceiving. Also, kudos to Snook especially.

I see the new season will be a season-length recreation of Korn's Freak on a Leash video

I'm kind of hoping this is a remake of the early 90s Australian sitcom of the same name starring Jon English. I mean, they didn't have mobile phones in the 90s…

Actually, Eastern Promises and A History of Violence are two of my clear favourites. Don't mind Crash either. Those three fit into the "etc" part of my OP ;) Still not swayed on Spider after the comments here, I'm sure it has worth but I found it a tedious slog, even if I did still feel a drive to piece it together

You know, I did see that one and didn't quite take to it. Might have to try it on for size again, I wasn't aware of this reputation it supposedly has.

I loved all the Cronenberg I saw back in the day (Videodrome, eXistenZ, The Fly, etc) so recently I decided to seek out those I hadn't seen. After watching Spider (THE WORST), Cosmopolis and A Dangerous Method I came to the conclusion I'd already seen all the good ones.

Daniel Johns' lyrics were always shit. "You're the enemy, the fungus in my milk"? Get outta here…

Mate, that question is very hard to drink.

She's just somebody that I used to know. Wait, that's not right…

I'm not a fan of this song at all but I am a fan of this song raising the profile of Charli XCX

They've just released some new stuff. I haven't bothered to check it out.

I've never heard anyone claim Tim Rogers, but he does fill us all with the pride of Australia.

The Vines? That simply would not do.

They do very little for me (I realise I lose all my indie cred and I'm OK with that), although I am happy for them, and Perth. Birds of Tokyo too, although I like them more.

The band Karnivool are going great guns these days - Perth, Western Australia boys done good. It's a great thing to watch a band go from playing small shows to selling out venues around the world and their music's still as good, if not better, than it was in those glorious early days.

I don't understand any hate for The Beards, they're a super fun band who are great live performers and the songs are surprisingly worthy. I'm also impressed at how far they manage to take the "only songs about beards thing" whilst still finding fresh angles.

Oh this is fucking genius.
