Excellent use of "Levantine".
Excellent use of "Levantine".
I mean, people appear on reality shows all the time that never air or get cancelled. Sometimes for bizarre reasons like "turns out one of the contestants was actually a murderer!"
Well the show does throw a lot of Red Herrings.
The fascinating thing for me is as Jane she clearly used the very deepest part of her register, while as the therapist she is presumably using her more natural tone.
I think the implication is Maddy and Nathan had sexual chemistry but little else. I'm fuzzy on the exact back story, but given she's 16 and they seem late 30s, they had her pretty young.
Bonny is an overly permissive, free spirited hippie who clearly can talk her husband into going along with her point of view.
She definitely fits the "overly permissive parent" role that makes me cringe.
Yup. I sort of wish the murder plot would go away.
But lots and lots of crazy hats.
I think it is largely a show about how women relate to each other and society and negotiate their roles as mothers and women. Calling it a "mommy lifestyles" show feels a bit dismissive, but it definitely is a show about women who are mothers.
I love Adam Scott, but not bearded Adam Scott.
I suspect Ed is sort of a red herring. He's got some creepy tendencies and suppressed rage, but this show is ultimately about the women.
Yeah, although the show tried to leave it ambiguous, there was no blood on her and honestly it would be weird storytelling to have her kill her rapist with two episodes left, and still building to someone being killed at the big school event.
Oh god, Amabella is an awful name to stick a child with.
Apparently Witherspoon and Kidman have the film rights to Liane Moriarty's most recent novel.
Yeah, even in the golden age of prestige television, the cast is pretty ridiculous.
Historically that hasn't stopped successful shows from continuing the storyline, often with disastrous results.
It's a drama with some comedic elements.
Desi is awful.
I really enjoy his acting, but it's become clear that Alexander Skaarsgard is not a violent person by nature, and has a hard time selling his character's violent outbursts. He can growl and menace well, but when it comes to actually getting physical with Kidman, I typically don't buy it.
