I enjoyed it because I viewed it as parody of every RomCom ending, where the man races to tell the woman he loves her and everything will be ok. If it was intended to be viewed straight, it was terrible TV.

Huh. I give this review a B+. Mostly good, but kind of muddled in places and not really sure what it wanted to say.
Obviously she is planning for a third season and there are plot threads that will be left dangling.
If any of the (horrible) characters was a minority, there would be complaints about depicting a horrible minority. It's kind of a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation when all your major characters are basically unlikable.
She didn't want him to pull a Clinton on her dress. Justifiable as we all saw how tough that stuff is to get out, and that was a nice dress!
I am totally comfortable calling it unseemly.
"I'm rooting for bad things for pretty much the entire cast."
"I wouldn’t call it rape or even sexual assault—though I’ve seen others calling it both—because Natalia’s disgust becomes more obvious to both of them after the fact."
Yeah, the Twilight hate has really killed the Razzies for me. They're mediocre movies, but seriously, they "win" waaaay too many Razzies. Good to see Rihanna got the Razzie for Battleship though.
Robert Downey actually has a background in comedy. He probably actually READ the bit ahead of time and planned his delivery. Shame no one else could keep up or cared enough to try.
Probably not sober. Seems like very few stars were.
I honestly felt bad for Jeremy Renner. The man seemed scared out of his mind to be on stage on live TV.
And of course, most of those angry slacktivists problably love Kate Winslet and her curvy body. The song in question pointed out, she clearly has no issue with baring her breasts on screen. I actually thought the song was clever satire of the American Male obsession with breasts and how easy it is for Hollywood to…
Oh man, this is my final year "In the Demo". Eeep!
It drove me crazy how badly most of the presenters flubbed their lines. These people are professional actors. Is it that hard to properly deliver ONE joke when presenting with any level of comic timing?
Still, I thought this year's show was better than a lot have been…
She did spend a LOT of time in her underwear though. In fact, depending on how you count her party dress, she didn't spend much of the episode fully dressed.
Of course, if you're familiar with Taccone's work, you know he was laughing pretty hard at getting his ass on an HBO show. It does pose an interesting discussion on how male nudity can be used for laughs, while female nudity almost always falls into "titillating" or "gross out".
She is definitely overweight, but certainly not obese. A Medical Doctor would probably tell her to do some cardio and eat more vegetables, but wouldn't go into the "If you don't change your lifestyle, in Five Years you will be Dead" speech.
I'm just gonna point out you claim you can't take the show, then spend most of your paragraph talking about what internet people *say* about the show. It sounds like the problem is you just need less internet in your life.
My theory is people have a love/hate relationship with Girls because it's interesting, but the protagonist is basically unlikable. Curb Your Enthusiasm has a mostly unlikable protagonist, but in many cases Larry David is the butt of the jokes. In other cases, he's the jerk who has the courage to tell even bigger jerks…
Absolutely. She likes the fantasy, but is too obsessed to actually care about the real Joshua.
