I’m kind of hoping rather than Sir Justin being a JSA-er, Pat reveals they were on a different team before joining the JSA and we get some Seven Soldiers of Victory action. Some Vigilante, some Crimson Avenger, and maybe some Grant Morrison stuff like the Sheeda and prophecy of 7 heroes banding together.

I’m surprised they went full Hulk on him instead of just pale Tall Man or something.

I’m expecting no one to take up the mantle of the Green Lantern (still a GL show for HBO MAX supposedly in the works, showrunners for this even mentioned they got specific limitations for the lantern). Maybe Obsidian and Jade will show up. But I think the literal lantern will just end up being a major MacGuffin of

Plus Henry Jr was a hero in the comics. He feels pretty conflicted right now, even though he is leaning towards a-hole.

Apparently, it is a subplot from Stars and STRIPE, the first Stargirl series. You can catch him this episode being very Arthurian “There be dragons in the water.”

Honestly, I feel like similar shows take too long to get the mythos really moving. I’m glad they made it to where they are at this point. Courtney here is a basically the new kid loner who seems used to being the cheerleading organizer of everyone. The way she is playing off the other characters is what is building

If nothing else, I really loved all the scenes of the protagonists trying to wrap their minds around what is happening, being in denial, and now having lots of possibilities in front of them. I don’t think a down-to-earth story rocked by supernatural forces has ever done that element better than this show.

It was glossed over very quickly that Peter was upset to see Simone at his work because his work is boring. But he buried the lede just enough for her to react as if it was her presence that embarassed him, which she acknowledged as a perfectly normal response. Which, although relieved very quickly in the moment, was

They reverse flanderized them

Kevin Can Fuck Himself sounds pretty awesome. I definitely want to check that out.

I agree with article regarding the specific silliness they mention, but I agree with you about the dread and suspense, especially one of the better “revealing your theory of the supernatural to a group of non-believers” scenes.

Maria did have a video. Home movie from whatever party was her alibi. She said no one cared about it.

Yes. Deeply amusing is exactly how I would describe the generation who grew up with Apu as a ubiquitous way of mocking an entire people  disagreeing with the previous generation who had their own problems.

You talk about Apu like he is real. Like people are trying to throw a real person who worked hard and made a life for himself under the bus and not a fictional caricature who’s voice and catchphrases have been used to mock South Asian people for as long as it is on and that those people might not find that much solace

I don’t expect every South Asian person to be on board in order for the points he makes to be valid or his feelings about it to be genuine or honest.

Vs reality? We’re all talking about this because a real life South Asian person made a documentary about his negative experiences with the character.

Yea.....sure.....right....he was ALWAYS meaningless.

Especially with the ending of the previous movie being that of a child inspired by the rebellion and that their actions, particularly Luke Skywalker’s return and final stand, might have set a fire in the hearts of allies around the galaxy as word catches.

That all tracks to me.

Not to mention, early features are probably polished and polished over and over while looking for producers. Not just given a deadline of a few months before filming. Time doesn’t always mean good but it often means better.
