Most of this is true but none of it is a reason that people should to ignore it either. These are reasons it is the way it is, not excuses.

Al Jean pretending there’s nothing wrong with Apu would carry more weight if they didn’t already spend time on the show to not only admit there’s a problem but that they are special enough to be grandfathered in.

I noticed that Blockbuster has Seven Samurai. That’s pretty good. The Blockbusters near me were essentially the movie equivalent of Top 40 before they went under.

And was pardoned before the jig was truly up.

I’m not the most educated person on civics so I could be wrong, but IIRC it should be stated more often that impeachment is not removal from office.

He has terribly antiquated views about civil rights, but so do most Republican candidates. I think Pence would attack the media less and pat dictators on the head less and be generally less antagonistic toward democratic standards. Not a good choice but a better choice perhaps than what we currently have going on.

I think what this movie does that is interesting is it removes love interests from talks about love. Kumail talks about Emily to other people. And Emily’s parents talk about each other to Kumail. These romantic heart-to-hearts always sound sort of insincere as if they reading Hallmark cards to each other. Being so

Yea, I wasn’t a fan of Ruby Sparks either, mostly because I think Paul Dano was ultimatley rewarded and shouldn’t have been. The Pretty One was better and I definitely think it could count as a rom-com. It has that same feeling as Caroline points out in Big Sick. The stakes aren’t in whether or not the boy and girl

Their response is worse than a fuck off. That would just dismiss the argument. This pretty much agrees with Hari and follows up with “Tough shit!”

What wrath?

The bulk of The Simpsons is about white people. They are represented in a multitude of ways, both positively and negatively. Not exactly the same situation. However, feel free to make that documentary. I’m sure people will watch and care. Earnestly, I believe that. Hari’s productivity shouldn’t have to be shamed

There’s a whole podcast dedicated to Alkaline Trio?

I feel like the bigger medical breakthrough would be the ability to reconnect spinal cords. A cure for paralysis.

It’s probably not popular, but I do like this idea.

The first one is a perfectly fine action movie. One of the better in the franchise since 5 has clearly been a fluke success that the series has never been able to live up to again.

He talks a lot about balancing the universe. I’m thinking he’s got a Ra’s al Ghul sort of philosophy. Time to sack Rome and burn London to the ground, so to speak.

Yea, I hate how monotone he’s made Dom. Dom in the first flick is so much more lighthearted.

I feel like it is dependent on there being either a finale or cancellation, not just wait-time.

Knowing it will be back is good enough for me.

I like what he says about his career in general (or rather general acting careers) at the end of the video. His interest level doesn’t seem to have waivered.
