I find myself pondering "what would happen if I got the powers the supervillain has?" IOW, are Jessica, Hope, and her parents unlucky that the guy who got these mind-control powers is super evil? Or would having those powers corrupt almost anyone? Maybe it depends on how old you are when you develop them (I'm

I hadn't even thought of the possibility that the parents were under his thrall.

“You’re drunk by 10 am!” “How dare you! I get up at 11 am!”

For the whole first season and the first few episodes of the second, I would totally disagree with that. But it has gone off the rails hardcore for the past few weeks.

"It’s obviously meant to be powerful and emotional, but it comes off as more melodramatic and silly."

I don't know how low their grades go, but this episode was bad. And as of about a month ago, I considered this one of the best dramas on TV, even in this Golden Age. It has jumped the shark hard.

I have only watched 10 minutes of this episode and I am super confused. I went on Wikipedia to see if I had somehow missed an episode, but it says no. Last I remember, Sheila and Fiona told Frank and Steve to GTFO, but this week both couples are back together with no explanation.

I kind of liked it. But I stumbled into a very, very bad parenting moment: my five-year-old, Dora-loving daughter was sitting on my lap watching with me when that painting of Dora popped on the screen—her abuela holding a large knife with one hand and Dora's severed head with the other, while Boots chewed on Dora's

The prequels (especially RotS) are not as bad as they are made out to be. My main issues with them are:

I thought Prometheus was awesome, and I don't understand the hate. If you want to complain about a movie in that series, it should be the stupid action sequel "Aliens".

Manipulating someone into sex by using their passivity and low self-esteem against them is a sleazy and immoral thing to do. But it is not a crime. It is not something that someone should be arrested for, tried for, and imprisoned for.

Again, I agree with your last sentence wholeheartedly, but failing to show consideration or respect for one's partner is not a crime. Elsewhere in this thread I pasted the exact wording of New York law on the definition of rape. Do you really think this qualifies?

Assuming they are still in New York:

"Up until the moment that he put his hand in her pants, she is resisting."

poop

I did not see her actively resist. You don't even seem to see it, really. In the rest of your comment, you appear more to be implying that there was what might be called passive resistance.

Yes, this. What a lot of the people pushing "enthusiastic consent" as the standard for what is not rape don't get is that there is stuff in life that people do to other people that isn't nice, isn't cool, might even be really shitty, but is not a criminal offense. I don't think it was being a good mate or friend or

I never really understood why Frank had so much to fear from Sheila going down to the bar. I mean, this is a guy who has literally shit on the rug, not to mention drinking massive amounts of beer, barfing on himself and not changing his shirt all day, people driving by and shouting epithets at him, etc. I think she

He was drugged though. And she is a minor, but not a young minor.

His "murder" of Dottie saved someone's life though.
