Agreed.

Katara is what, 80 years old? Even if she was awesome as a teenager, she probably spent at least 20 years living in Republic City with Aang, and don't tell me she had time to bop back and forth to the Water Tribes with great frequency while she had three little kids to raise, probably full-time while her husband tried

Isn't the easy answer to this that one of Unalaq's duties as Chief is to appoint judges? In which case, yeah, it is pretty easy to suspect that 20 years ago he filled all the posts up with lackeys.

I disagree with you both. I don't think Avatars are supposed to be as out of control insane as Aang was constantly shown to be. Otherwise the Avatar state would be of no use, because the Gaang is constantly afraid that AvatarState!Aang will blow everyone up like a bomb and not like a targeted laser.

I actually interpreted Korra's lack of siblings as the phenomenon known as 'stoppage'.  Once their lives got upended by the demands of raising a child prodigy Avatar, they decided not to have any more children because the one they had was too much of a burden. Which is probably too sad and complex to get into a show

It's because the thin, elegant neck leading from the saucer to the nacelles looks like such a structural weakness. (Even though it's intentional to the design and space doesn't work that way.)

@avclub-1cdd3d1e53f96ae7894ff6d46f59f2e0:disqus Yeah, the Cardassian Border Wars are always portrayed really inconsistently. It's sort of better, I think, to think of them as the Federation's Vietnam: mentally destroying to those touched by it, but literally fought over almost nothing and materially forgotten quickly.

I kind of wish the Prophets who took on certain aspects had more… continuity, but since they're implied to literally be reflections of the mortal/user/beholder's mind, I guess it works.

He does draw the line at genocide, however.

And where would he get one, anyway? Pit stop to Bajor to fly one of your culture's nine most precious objects on a suicide mission?
