For the first version there was a publicly available SDK that you could program with on the Mono platform. The new ones should be no different, except the platform is now embedded C++ with a new SDK.

Who did you go with? I've been looking around and all I can find at this point are a couple of broadband wireless companies. I was stoked when I heard FiOS was coming, but that went poof.

So long as we allow big business to collude with governments to inhibit other businesses or smaller governments from competing with them, we will have this problem. I'm with you, it's sad and not how things should be. Everybody loses except for the businesses in question.
