Slaves building BMWs in South Carolina.
We could also skip all the wonky bullshit and have government funded healthcare with no charge at the point of use like a civilized country.
All I read was people sniffing around for someone else to pay for their healthcare.
You’re right, and I also suspect this is the main reason GRRM has taken so long with The Winds of Winter and A Dream of Spring. It’s not that he doesn’t know where he wants to take the story, it’s just hard to do in a way that lives up to the fantasy-trope-defying that the series is known for.
That’s my thought too. It’s too easy to say “GRRM wouldn’t have written it that predictably.” But I think that’s exactly the problem he’s having with finishing the books. It’s easy to wrap up the plots, but hard to do in a way that he’s satisfied with.
I don’t know why they can’t be honest about it.
Taxi cabs are privately owned vehicles too. That doesn’t mean they can ignore the ADA.
It sounds like you just don’t like the idea of prepared food kits (which is fine!), not that Blue Apron is particularly bad at it.
I’m not sure why Conor thought this fight would be a good idea, but I guess McGregors can’t be choosers.
You’re really mad about outrage for an article that just said “they’re both assholes and this fight doesn’t have a good guy”
One problem is that American culture in general has a hard time distinguishing between capitalism and the free market. Unionizing and collective bargaining is in the spirit of the free market while also directly antagonistic toward capital(ism).
The stakes are a lot higher because you have only one life per round. I get attached enough to my characters that I weigh carefully when to take a risk.
I think the worst-case-scenario here is that it ruins the Overwatch competitive scene. No one else is going to emulate this strategy until they at least see how it plays out for Blizzard first.
Nah, maybe once a month.
My wife and I solved that problem by just having me always load and unload the dishwasher and her not get annoyed when it takes me an extra day or two to get around to doing so.
According to some cursory Googling, most states only charge tax on the actual lease payments, while Arkansas, Illinois, Maryland, Oklahoma, Texas and Virginia charge sales tax on the entire price.
Plus the owner seems to be ok with it.
Just because the guy can eat 70 sandwiches all of a sudden he’s an expert?
That’s a Bill Simmons adage IIRC. He definitely knows the NBA, but most of his adages seem anecdotally amusing more than genuinely useful.
Considering that the worst possible failure for Lonzo (from a strictly sports perspective) is only making $13 million, I don’t think it’s too bad.
