If Honda or any other company want to sell a respectable amount of small/midsized pickups they need to have good MPG. That is the deal breaker every time, why spend almost the same amount of money for less capability and the same crappy MPG... it can’t be that hard to put a good turbo 4 or diesel in these things.

They don’t need to be competitive, they need to cost less. It’s less truck after all.
