I think it's a great idea for developers and publishers to have released games on display at these events. Gamers now see what may have flown under their radar, and they can now go to Gamestop and pick up a used version on the cheap.

There used to be a marketing site called whatshotnow.com. You would fill in surveys and get points. I did it during class at college, and earned a ton.

@StarTropicana: In my house the rule used to to be contested. Now my wife plays Animal Crossing. Nothing is worse for me than when I sit down to complete my business, turn on the DS expecting Advance Wars, and see the cutesy AC screen load up.
