Id argue the Ariel Atom is in super car territory and probably far cheaper to maintain. Though the “car” portion may be debatable.

Run what the damn engineers suggest.  That will work the vast majority of the time outside of extreme situations.

A lot of high load low rpm scenarios (heya there LSPI) would be a very possible outcome of needing it.

At least with the WRX/STi... it made a little sense. Both of those are exclusively still built in Japan and boated over. So it’s not egregious for those two... Now for the ones built in friggin Jersey (outback or forester I think)... come on...

I think the fuel savings might be even higher. my car alone uses 1500 to 2k in gas a year (granted premium) though it is a higher mpg than a truck.
