I dont see why the brakes and tires will have shit the bed. Those should be fine. The clutch sounds very much like its life will be significantly shortened however.

What I did for my wrx. Literally no point buying used within several years of current MY for what you can get a brand new one for.  Let alone buying a used sporty car from who knows with a speculative sometimes at best maintenance history.

Had an acquaintance that had an older focus (2000's ish). Thing had an electrical issue that caused it to catch fire and burn to the ground. Dont think hes bought a ford since.

Clean awd manual forced induction... under 4k!?!?  3500 for just a forester in that condition is good alone.
