The Gates Foundation and other anti-Malaria groups have HALVED the annual death-toll from Malaria since 2000. These groups are currently saving about 400,000 people a year and climbing.

So far, he’s given 53.8 billion dollars to charity. I don’t get the need of people to jump on him, either.

Bill Gates is a lot of things. But do not shit on the Foundation. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has worked tirelessly to eradicate Polio; create self-sustaining, efficient sanitation for developing nations; funding family planning; eradicate malaria.

He’s not “hoarding” wealth. He created it. He founded what under his leadership became one of the largest software empires in history and a little thing called Windows which runs the vast majority of desktop computers. (Among other things.)

And unlike a lot of very rich people, he created a huge non-profit foundation…

Yep. It’s a hit piece just to be a hit piece. The Gates Foundation has been investing a _lot_ of money into things that have the potential to improve quality of life for a lot of people. Drinking water, electric power, all sorts of things.

Yeah, not knowing what the Bill and Melinda Gates foundation is, is not something to brag about. It’s one of the best charities in the world. They’ve done more the near eradication of malaria than any government or charity in the world.

Ok poke a little fun at Bill Gates the geek, sure, but to pretend the Gates Foundation does nothing is lazy writing.

This. Whatever he’s like personally, his foundation - which, Jesus, Jezebel, do some research before you casually dismiss the Gates Foundation - has done an incredible amount to transform living conditions in the developing world.

Is there really a need to shit on Bill Gates? I’ve seen enough of it from right wing sources and now this one too?

It may be because I’m super-old, but one of the first things I remember about the Gates Foundation after it formed was all the mosquito netting it provided to countries in Africa and its dedication to family planning. This isn’t just another Bezos, folks, even if you do not like the man.

The ship has been interned by a belligerent foreign power. Based on my understanding of The Sea, the honorable thing would be for the crew to scuttle the Ever Given rather than let it fall into enemy hands.

Old cars suck! They’re dangerous and bad for the environment. They’re also always worse driving than I remembered. These days, whenever I get into an older car they feel so damn loud and slow. They should be relegated to the garage and left off the streets.

Better than a diamond studded Bugatti hearse......

Okay. My petty gay ass’s first thought was: well at least she’ll have less followers. But honestly, good, I’m glad that she is putting this out there. People need to ignore her father’s ignorance (is that a double negative?) and get the fucking vaccine so that the rest of us can live our lives again.
