I thought it was weird that they’d have Sarah Paulson on the show in the same episode where they made a Women Talking joke...

Yep. A comment thread on years of SNL reviews here is they often have a great premise that they either don’t do enough with, or just cannot fill the time they are alotted, and “Wing Pit” manages to escalate perfectly and not overstay its welcome (I think while funny throughout, the “Mario Kart” sketch wasn’t as

That episode is “Death Lends a Hand”, one of several guest-starring Robert Culp. He also appeared in “Double Exposure”, as well as an episode with Dean Stockwell (RIP).

“Little things.”

Oh, and speaking of “least cop thing ever”: In one, a killer police captain/higher-up (Richard Widmark) kills his wife and starts to frame it on a wanted burglar/jewel thief. Columbo not only finds the thief, but gets his help to nail the captain.

Was that the golf pro/instructor who was guilty and torn up about the death of his lover (who was killed, I believe, by Robert Culp’s character)? I remember Columbo gently telling that character that because he already knew it was someone else.

Well, it is easy for him. He just has to watch the beginning of the episode and the whole crime is laid out for him.

People also like fun.  Colombo was fun.  Knives Out was fun.  L&O is not fun.

I feel like Dale is going to come off a bit less . . . harmless in 2023.

There is no conspiracy that is too absurd to work for comedy anymore. The only way you could make Dale work is if he’s speaking absolute truths and no one believes him.

Bill was there on accident.

I need to know which of the residents of Arlen, Texas are now deceased anti-vaxxers.

Cindy Williams and Penny Marshall as Shirley & Laverne were a delight regardless of what era they were supposed to be in

Exactly.  Westerns were the huge mass market genre for decades and never went away. They ebb and flow for sure and aren’t as popular as their prime but they still make them.  I’m sure superhero movies will do the same thing.

Guy, I wholeheartedly agree w your analysis. Any honest capital C “Criticism” of The Last Jedi has to look at the movie presented and see how it relates to the previous installments and where it may go from there. My immediate reaction after seeing TLJ was “how are they going to wrap up this huge arc in 2-2.5 hours?”

That was exactly my reaction when I heard it!

Similarly, the base level half ton pickups always come in more colors than the top trims. It always seemed backward as hell to me.

Mmm, there are a ton of movies, shows and books that do better than 50-50. What sucks is that a lot of the valid criticism was drowned out by a bunch of culture war brain-rot about WOKENESS. In my opinion, this wasn’t the forum to deconstruct Star Wars, in the middle of a planned trilogy. It wasn’t a James Bond which

It’s still the highest-rated program ever by a wide margin, with a 60.2 rating compared to 53.3 for the conclusion to Dallas’s “Who shot JR?” cliffhanger. Few observations:

Big fan of this as well. She’s adorable and makes my heart happy.
