Yeah, it’s one thing to fill in backstory, it’s quite another to directly contradict what’s been said before and make your character the most important being EVER!!! If you’re going to pull that shit, it had better be because it’s in service of a stellar story, not just some random horse-shit you toss out for shits

It looks like he’s wearing these:

Yeah, somebody saw this guy and said, “you know, I might be crazy, but I think I could turn this weird looking kid into a movie star!”

It’s WILDLY successful. It’s got my mid-70s Mom creating memes around the characters to send to her friends. From how she’s described it, it’s got strong Game of Thrones “palace intrigue” vibes for people who prefer horses to dragons.

I’m pretty sure 90% of this show is filmed in Harrison Ford’s (800 acre) back yard.

I’m partial to 12s checkered pants, hoodie, and t-shirt combo with his long coat and hair that’s gotten a bit out of control. The “no fucks left to give” combo.

It’s kinda funny they have to tone down Ncuti Gatwa’s fashion sense for him to play The Doctor.

Those are Doc Martens, I’m pretty sure. So not that nice.

I don’t care for Sacha Dhawan’s Master. He cranks the “crazy” to 14 for every scene and it just gets dull and same-y. A lot of that is Chibnall, every time the Master speaks it’s an arch “I’M SO FUCKING EVIL!!!!!!!!!!” monologue with Whittaker’s Doctor just kinda standing around listening to him with the same

Chibnall gave an interview where he admitted he did the whole “The Doctor is actually the Timeless Child” on a lark. He had no plan for it, no particular idea of how that would impact the show or the character, he was just screwing around. He said that nobody really cares about continuity on Doctor Who.

If it’s not on Quibi it’s not for me!!

After traveling around the South and various small-town Appalachian areas for over a decade, I’m wary of thinking “nobody really sounds like that,” when it comes to southern accents. Because no matter how ridiculous and made-up sounding a southern accent might be, chances are there’s SOME place where they sound

Yeah, I’m not getting my hopes up until it’s literally ON THE SCREEN, but it’s nice that he’s got serious passion for the material and SK personally gave him the rights (and that he envisions it starting as a series, because the format, the story and the pacing is just too fucking weird to try to make into a

Well, King would be played by an actor. Gary Cole was born for the role.

The reloading trick is fucking awesome. Idris Elba COULD have been a great Roland, Matthew Mcconaughey COULD have been a great Man in Black, and . . . that’s it. End of positive things about that tedious, bullshit, piece of crap movie.

Maverick was good, better than it had any right to be, and I was impressed that they came up with a half-way reasonable explanation for why Maverick hadn’t been retired out of the Navy in roughly 2012 since max service time is 30 years for non-flag officers, and he’d already been in at least 4 years in 1986. Avatar has aged just fine, it’s still a good movie that looks wonderful with great effects. There just wasn’t a long-term cultural impact. It didn’t rewrite the way movies were made, it didn’t inspire 9,000 other wildly expensive 99% CG blockbusters, at the end of the day it was just a beautiful-looking, good movie

Try as I might, I just can’t imagine someone saying, out loud, “Hey, we’ve GOT to go to Longhorn Steakhouse!”

I didn’t know Vitali was mayor of Kiev. Now I’m imagining a future movie where he becomes a cross between Liam Neeson and Rambo and single-handedly kicks the ever loving shit out of the Russian invaders.
