quincy was also cutting edge for its  day by having an asian american actor, robert ito, as a regular.  the role of quincy was actually based on asian american los angeles coroner thomas naguchi, but i'm guessing hollywood couldn't base an entire series on an asian guy back in the 70's, so they settled for the co-star

maddow's ok, but if you watch during the day, i highly recommend now with alex wagner. not only is alex sharp and level headed and objective (for a liberal), she continually has great guests/pundits (not the usual bunch), and she's easy on the eyes if you know what i mean.
