Pulling off a stunt like “making a film in the style of...” would have been a foolish waste of time, first and foremost, prohibitively expensive and finally, that type of humour didn’t exist. Yes. Yes I have. I spent too many years in archives at CBC/NFB/BBC/U of T and Ryerson. There are plenty of films that look this good, and better, from the 19th century.
